About Ted
I’m a clinical social worker and psychotherapist based in Ontario, and I specialize in treating adolescent and young adult men who are navigating addiction and related challenges. Whether you’re dealing with substance use or process-based behaviours, I start with the same question: Why the pain?
Addiction isn’t the heart of the problem. It’s a coping strategy for managing our pain. It works until it doesn’t. That’s why our work doesn’t stop at addiction. My scope of practice extends to relationships, identity, trauma, anxiety/mood disorders, masculinity, and anything else that might be fuelling the need to escape.
My approach is client-centred, trauma-informed, and anti-oppressive. I move at your pace and offer you the freedom to shape your own path. My goal is to empower you with clear, honest guidance.
I earned my Master of Social Work degree from the University of Toronto, with a specialization in Advanced Mental Health and a collaborative graduate specialization in Addiction Studies. I’m a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.
In therapy, I use elements of evidence-based modalities like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS), adapting them to fit who you are and what you need.
A big part of my work is helping men break free from outdated ideas of masculinity. That means showing up with strength, honesty, and clarity, without shutting down or bottling things up. I use Stoic philosophy as a core influence in my approach, emphasizing wisdom, courage, temperance, and justice as values that guide lasting growth.
Addiction is isolating and overwhelming. I know that firsthand because I’ve been there. As a recovered alcoholic, I’ve dedicated my life to supporting men who are now where I once was. If you bring honesty, open-mindedness, and willingness to our work, real change is possible.
You don’t have to figure this out alone. Reach out. Let’s get to work.

Land Acknowledgement
I want to recognize that this practice operates on traditional Indigenous land. For thousands of years, this territory has been home to many Nations, including the Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee, Huron-Wendat, and the Mississaugas of the Credit. It remains home to many Indigenous people from across Turtle Island today. I'm grateful for the opportunity to do this work here, and to acknowledge the history and presence of the people who came before us.
Cultural Competency
I’m committed to creating a space where people from all backgrounds can talk openly and feel respected. I bring a culturally informed approach to therapy and make sure you’re never met with judgment or ignorance. I recognize how history, identity, and culture shape experiences, and I work to understand the unique challenges one may face because of them. I continuously seek to learn, reflect, and grow as a clinician so that therapy remains a safe place for all.
Statement of Allyship
I stand as an informed and active ally to LGBTQIA+ individuals and work hard to ensure therapy is a place where everyone feels safe, seen, and supported, no matter who you are or how you identify. I am committed to providing affirming care that respects your identity and lived experience. I continue to educate myself on evolving language, rights, and issues that impact these communities, so that the support I offer is competent and current.
