FAQ
-
That depends on you. Some people want to focus on a specific issue, like managing an addiction or working through a breakup. Others just know they’re feeling off and want to understand why. There’s no agenda. We’ll talk about what matters most to you.
-
No. We’ll only talk about it if and when you're ready. Therapy is your space, and I’ll never pressure you to go somewhere you’re not prepared to go. We can still do meaningful work while building trust and moving at your own pace. My trauma-informed approach means I’ll never ask you to tell me any trauma details.
-
Yes. Everything you share in therapy is kept strictly confidential under the Personal Health Information Protection Act. I will never share anything outside of our therapy sessions without your permission. There are a few legal exceptions, like if there’s a risk of serious harm to yourself or others. We’ll go over these boundaries clearly so you always know where things stand.

Therapy is a powerful tool, but it’s not always the only one. If extra support is needed, like a structured inpatient or intensive outpatient treatment program, I’ll help you explore options that fit your needs. I have an extensive network of highly trusted treatment services that I can refer you to if you need more support.

While addiction recovery is a major part of my work, I also help people with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationships, emotional regulation, masculinity, identity, and other common problems that you might see a therapist for. Many people I work with aren’t dealing with addiction at all.
-
Many women and gender-diverse individuals face challenges with addiction, and my practice is available to anyone seeking support. If you're curious about working together, feel free to reach out, I'd be happy to connect.
-
While I specialize in working with adolescents and young adults, I also work with adults who are facing similar challenges. If you connect with my approach and feel like we’d be a good fit, you’re welcome to reach out regardless of your age.

I offer family therapy sessions when it’s helpful to involve parents or caregivers in the process, especially for adolescents. These sessions focus on improving communication, trust, and support. It is always up to you if you want to involve your family in the process.

I currently offer secure online therapy for clients across Ontario. You can do sessions from wherever you're most comfortable, whether that’s your home, your car, or your dorm room. As long as your space is safe and private.

Many extended health plans in Ontario cover sessions with a Registered Social Worker (RSW). It’s a good idea to check with your provider to see what’s included. I don’t bill insurance providers directly, but I’ll give you a receipt you can use to submit for reimbursement.
